Hello, my name is Nick Marshall. I’ve been a Licensed Massage Therapist since 2013. Pam and I re-opened Erie Massage Therapy together in 2022. I am an independent contractor that books by appointment only. I specialize in back and neck pain relief, but have been called the Swiss Army knife of massage therapists. I can adjust each session to your particular needs each and every time. I believe that one of my greatest strengths is the diversity of my prior work experiences in a wide variety of locations including a hotel spa, physical therapy office, athletic locker room, and a very fast paced clinic. The skills I developed in these locations gave me a great wealth of knowledge before going out on my own. I have developed a wide range of techniques to use with each client to fit their individual needs. I have been trained in Swedish, Therapeutic, Deep Tissue, Hot-stone, Sports, and Pre-natal massage, as well as Assisted Stretch, Kinesiology Taping, and Resisted Release Therapy.
Working in the hotel spa allowed me to work with a very large variety of people from all over the world, giving me new insight about how different people view massage and what type of expectation's people might have for their sessions. Most people who go to spas are looking to relax, and being more of a deep tissue therapist at first, I had to adjust my technique so that even my deep tissue work was still relaxing.
While I was working in the physical therapy office, I worked primarily with injured or recovering individuals. Most of my expertise was utilized on one specific bodily region to help aid recovery. This, again made me adjust my technique. I needed to find what massage techniques would best help the area and what connecting muscles would be most affected. I would also spend time to find and massage the muscles they were using to compensate for the injury to prevent further damage.
I was really able to start to combine the knowledge I had gained while working with professional athletes. Prior to Covid, I spent every summer for three years working at the Presque Isle Casino with the Jockeys before and in-between races. I regularly performed quick warm up/stretch sessions to prepare them for a race, long relaxing recovery techniques to wind down from a race, or sometimes a blend to help decrease the burden of an injury in-between each race. This really allowed me to start to combine stretch and massage together, and use the different techniques I had learned to be of service for each individual situation.
I spent the next few years in a very fast paced clinic. This allowed me to work on a broader scope of individuals, and be able to work with some of the same individuals regularly for years. Being able to assist in the progress that some of the clients had made (between increases in mobility or a decrease in pain) was extremely rewarding. I soon realized that I valued quality time with my clients over quantity. This made me want to open my own clinic so I could dictate my own hours and treat each client with my full and undivided attention.

Hello, I am so excited with this new chapter of my life and career. I’ve been licensed in the state of Florida since 1987 and Pennsylvania since 2016. Half of my life I’ve lived in Orlando, Florida, practicing massage in a variety of locations ranging from the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress for almost 8 years, Massage Envy in Waterford Lakes, Florida for 8 years and many private clients in their homes and businesses. I was lucky to have contacts in the Television and Movie industry where I got to travel to different set locations and meet many interesting people. I was a member of the sports massage team and worked several sporting events in Central Florida, learning how different each person is and how to customize each massage to fit their needs. I became a massage therapist because of a car accident I was in and was badly injured with severe whiplash. I tried physical therapy for several months then found massage therapy. I had one massage and my pain was nearly all gone. I was so impressed with this, I went to massage school in Orlando, FL, became an LMT and the rest is history. In addition to my massage school education, I studied Neuro Muscular Therapy, (NMT) with Paul St John, LMT and Judith Walker-Delany LMT, Mother Massage with Elaine Stillerman, LMT, Sports Massage with Michael McGillicuddy, LMT. Lymphatic Drainage Therapy with Upledger Institute, and Oncology Massage with Cheryl Chapman, RN, NCTMB, LMT. In 1995, I moved back to Erie and started my business, Erie Massage Therapy Center, I was a member of the AMTA Massage Licensing Committee and was the original program director and teacher for the first massage therapy school in Erie, PA. If I would describe the kind of massage I do, I'd say I specialize in relaxation and pain management, using a variety of modalities I have learned throughout the past 34 years. I’d love to be your massage therapist.
